Best Liability Insurance for Portrait Photographers

Portrait photographers often have studios or spaces where they photograph individuals or groups. Liability can protect a photographer if a client gets injured due to a photographer’s setup.

Why Portrait Photographers need Liability

Studios and working on location come with liability risks. Professional portrait photographers experience liability risks when they photograph or meet clients at their studio or rent a studio. In addition, working on location exposes a photographer to liability if someone gets injured due to their setup or property gets accidentally damaged.

Property Damage & Bodily Injury. Liability also covers a photographer for property damage while they capture images at a venue.

With limits up to $6M/$7M, RVNA’s General Liability insurance helps to protect a wedding photographer’s business in the event where they are held liable for bodily injury or property damage. Whether a photographer is in a studio, at an event, or on the streets, this coverage is indispensable.

The Best Equipment & Camera Insurance

It’s a common misconception that the warranties that come with a camera or other high-value photography equipment provide enough protection. While they offer limited protection, they do not provide the necessary protection professional photographers require. In addition, managing multiple warranties with multiple providers is nowhere near hassle free when filing a claim. Instead of signing up for all those additional warranties, our photographer insurance can protect all your equipment including photography and office equipment.

Why Portrait Photographers need Equipment Insurance

Theft and accidental damage coverage
Our equipment coverage not only covers your equipment for accidental damage, it also provides protection in the event your camera is stolen.

Equipment Replacement Cost Coverage
If your camera needs to be replaced, we don’t pay you the value of your existing camera, we pay to replace your camera. What this means for a portrait photographer is that if your camera model has been discontinued our insurance will pay what it costs you to replace your camera, even if it’s a newer model. This replacement cost coverage extends to all photography gear and office equipment including laptops, monitors, and more.

Owned and rented equipment coverage
Our equipment insurance is one of the few where coverage extends to rented equipment as well.

Fire, Windstorm, Earthquake, Flood, Vandalism coverage
Our gear coverage covers equipment for accidental damage from many perils that are often excluded by other insurers.

No per-item limit, no itemization needed
When you purchase equipment coverage, you choose how much coverage you need. If you need to file a claim, your equipment can be covered up to the limit you selected. We don’t place per-item limits on photography equipment, so even if you have a high-value camera that is covered under the policy, we will pay to replace it.

No per item or aggregate limit

RVNA places no limits on the value of your camera or equipment. For example, If a photographer selects a $10,000 coverage limit then the equipment is covered up to $10,000 even if that amount is for a single camera accidentally damaged that costs $10,000 to replace. Other insurance places per item limits on camera and gear.

Owned and rented equipment

RVNA’s Photographer Insurance provides coverage for owned and rented equipment. For example: A photographer rents lights for a shoot and a light gets damaged. RVNA’s Camera Equipment Insurance covers the replacement cost of the equipment up to the insured limit. Other insurance excludes rented equipment.
